AEROCAREERS & EAA64’s AIRCRAFT RESTORATION PROJECT

LEARN AIRCRAFT RESTORATION & MAINTENANCE SKILLS
GET REAL HANDS-ON MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF MASTER MECHANICS

AeroCareers’ mission is air and space career education and mentoring for individuals interested in the aerospace industry. EAA 64 is a large, diverse chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association with a mission to promote aviation and foster education for members and the youth of our community.  They have a successful track record working together to provide flight training scholarships and low-cost flight training.

The two organizations are working together to restore a 1959 Cessna 172, a first production model of the aircraft that has trained more pilots than any other aircraft in the world.  More than 44,000 Cessna 172s have been built and they are still in production today after more than 65 years.

Our aircraft restoration effort is being accomplished entirely by volunteers, giving individuals valuable hands-on aircraft maintenance experience under the supervision of seasoned aviation professionals.  Whether you only have an hour or can stay all day, you are welcome to participate. When restoration is complete, the aircraft will provide free introductory flight experiences and tailwheel training in AeroCareers' not-for-profit flying club.

We need your help to train the next generation of pilots and aircraft maintenance professionals.  Your monetary support, donations of a variety of aircraft components to include avionics, navigation systems and flight instrumentation, as well as aircraft services such as paint and interior services, will help further our project.  Of course, if you’re willing to get your hands a bit dirty, your labor will be appreciated, too.

Whether you can contribute some volunteer labor, a tool, an aircraft part, or a make monetary donation, your support is greatly appreciated and will further our aviation educational goals.
